Your choices
Google Analytics is optional and loads only after you select “Accept analytics.” Before acceptance or after rejection, no Analytics requests are sent to Google. The site works either way. Open privacy settings to change or withdraw consent. Withdrawal stops future collection and removes this site’s accessible Analytics cookies; it does not undo earlier processing.
We store your choice, its date, and notice version in your browser for up to 180 days to remember your preference. Clearing site data resets it; other browsers and devices have separate choices. Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track turns Analytics off, even after acceptance. Analytics also stays off if JavaScript or preference storage is unavailable.
What Analytics collects and why
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to measure visits and engagement and improve the site. Google processes page views, timestamps, cookie identifiers, browser/device information, and approximate location derived from your IP address. These identifiers and usage information can be personal data. We do not send names, email addresses, or message contents to Analytics.
Google’s first-party _ga and _ga_* cookies distinguish visitors and sessions. We limit them to 180 days without renewing them on each visit. User-level and event-level Analytics data has a two-month retention period without reset on new activity; aggregated reports may remain longer.
We use Analytics for measurement only, with advertising personalization and Google signals disabled. We do not sell personal information collected through this site or use it for targeted advertising.

Voting
We use cookies, browser and device identifiers, and IP addresses to remember your vote, let you change your selection, and help prevent duplicate or abusive voting. Voting recognition and associated records are retained for up to one year.
Individual voting records are private to the site operator and are not sent to Google Analytics. Aggregate totals may be retained longer, and backup copies may remain until they expire. Clearing your browser’s cookies does not automatically delete existing voting records.
Other information and service providers
Our hosting provider processes technical request information, including your IP address, to deliver and secure the site even when Analytics is off. If you email us, we and our email provider use your address and message to respond and retain correspondence only as needed for the inquiry, related business records, or legal obligations.
Google may process Analytics data in the United States and other countries under its data-processing terms and transfer safeguards. We may disclose information where legally required or to protect legal rights.
Where a legal basis is required, we rely on consent for Analytics, our legitimate interests in providing a secure site and answering inquiries, and applicable legal obligations.
Questions and privacy requests
Email hello@boredinside.com with privacy questions or requests to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your information. Depending on applicable law, you may also restrict its use, complain to a data-protection authority, or ask us to reconsider a denied request. We may need to verify requests and may be unable to link Analytics identifiers to you.
You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw Analytics consent at any time through Privacy settings.
Changes to this notice
We will update this notice when practices change. New purposes requiring consent, including future advertising, will require a new choice.
